"Lord, it is good for us to be here." (Matthew 17:4)

With immense joy and thanksgiving, the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles – Scalabrinians celebrates a significant moment of grace and commitment: the First Religious Profession of sixteen young men who have courageously embraced the consecrated life in service of God and migrants.
The sacred celebration took place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Scalabrini Novitiate Seminary, located in San Carlos Heights, Quiot Pardo, Cebu City, Philippines. Presiding over the Eucharistic Celebration was Fr. Paulo Prigol, CS, Provincial Vicar Councilor of the Australia–Asia Province.
These sixteen brothers, coming from Indonesia, Vietnam, and India, publicly professed their first vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, committing themselves to live as Scalabrinian religious and missionaries for migrants and refugees around the world. Their profession marks a vital milestone on their vocational journey, after a year of intense spiritual formation and discernment in the novitiate.
In the presence of formators, their families from Vietnam, and their friends from different religious communities and other places in Cebu, these brothers professed their vows with hearts full of faith and missionary zeal. Inspired by St. Charles Borromeo and St. John Baptist Scalabrini, the founder of the Congregation, they now join the global Scalabrinian mission of evangelization, particularly among migrants, seafarers, and refugees.

After their first profession, the Provincial vicar announced their assignments for their theological studies. They will be assigned to different countries to study the theology such as Rome, Colombia, Brazil, and Manila.
We thank the Lord of the harvest for the gift of these vocations and invite everyone to pray for their perseverance, growth, and fidelity in religious life.
