Priestly Ordination of Rev. Hugo Facio in Oaxaca, Mexico


Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico.



On November 30, 2024, Reverend Deacon Hugo Antonio Facio Hernandez, CS was ordained to the priesthood through the laying on of hands by the Most Reverend Pedro Vázquez Villalobos, Archbishop of Oaxaca at the Capilla del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, which belongs to the Cuasi Parroquia de la Soledad, in Montoya, Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico.  Attending the ordination were many Scalabrinian priests, Seminarians and Sisters together with his family, relatives and friends.




Fr. Martin Ignacio Gutierrez, CS, the Provincial Superior of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Province attended the ordination and gave some words of encouragement to the newly ordained priest. Fr. Hugo has in Cebu, Philippines, where he will guide young men discerning their calling to the Scalabrinian Missionary life.



 The following day was the first mass of Rev. Fr. Hugo in his home town. It was a moment of thanksgiving and joy for him and his family. After his ordination, he will take his vacation. Then, he will go to Cebu, Philippines where he was assigned as the Director of Postulancy who would guide young men discerning their calling to the Scalabrinian Missionary life.



Let us continue praying for Rev. Hugo, asking the Lord to bless his ministry abundantly and make him a compassionate shepherd to migrants and all those entrusted to his care.
