The Scalabrinian Family joyfully gives thanks to God for the precious gift of three new priests ordained during the month of September 2025. Responding to God’s call with faith and generosity, these new priests have dedicated their lives to the service of the Church and the people of God, especially migrants and refugees, following the missionary zeal of St. John Baptist Scalabrini, Father to the migrants.
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Fr. Eduardo Lupercio Preciado, CS, received the Presbyterial Ordination through the laying on of hands of Monsignor Javier Navarro Rodríguez, Bishop of Zamora, Michoacán. The solemn celebration took place at 12:00 noon in the Templo de Cristo Rey, Parish of the Immaculate Conception, in Capilla de Milpillas, Jalisco, Mexico. The celebration gathered family members, friends, Scalabrinian confreres, and parishioners, all united in prayer and thanksgiving for the gift of priesthood. Fr. Eduardo completed his theological studies in Manila, Philippines, and is assigned to the Province of St. John the Baptist. His ordination marks a new chapter of service to the Church and to the mission among migrants and refugees.
A few days later, on Monday, September 22, 2025, Fr. Pham Van Chuong, CS, was ordained to the priesthood through the laying on of hands of Most Rev. Alphonse Nguyen Huu Long, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Vinh, during a solemn Eucharistic celebration held at 8:00 a.m. in the pastoral center of the Diocese of Vinh, Nghe An, Vietnam. The ordination was attended by a great number of faithful, family members, and religious, who expressed their gratitude to God for the gift of a new priest in the Church. Fr. Chuong completed his theological formation in Manila, Philippines, and is assigned to the Province of St. Charles. After his vacation, he will begin his first missionary assignment, continuing the Scalabrinian mission of serving.
Completing this month of grace, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Fr. Vu Ngoc Khanh, CS, was ordained to the Order of Presbyters through the laying on of hands of Most Rev. John the Baptist Nguyen Huy Bac, DD, Bishop of the Diocese of Ban Mê Thuột. The ordination Mass took place at 9:30 a.m. in Kim Thanh Parish, Vietnam, with the joyful participation of family, friends, and the local Christian community. Fr. Khanh completed his theological studies in Manila, Philippines, and has been assigned to learn Italian in Italy as preparation for his first missionary mission in Australia, where he will serve the migrant communities. His ordination reflects the missionary zeal and openness of heart that characterize the Scalabrinian vocation.
The Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles—Scalabrinians expresses profound gratitude to God for calling these three new priests to share in the priesthood of Christ and to continue the Congregation’s mission to welcome, protect, promote, and integrate migrants and refugees throughout the world. Their ordinations remind us that the missionary call is both a gift and a responsibility—a response of love to the Lord who continues to send workers into His harvest. May Fr. Eduardo, Fr. Chuong, and Fr. Khanh serve faithfully as signs of God’s compassion and hope among His people. Let us accompany them with our prayers as they begin their priestly ministry in service of the Gospel and the human family on the move.
